EPSRC CDT in Next Generation Computational Modelling

2nd cohort of NGCM students arrives at Southampton

The second group of doctoral students of the NGCM training centre has arrived in Southampton. The programme starts in the middle of September with tailored induction activities, which include an intensive 5-day programming course that introduces all students to Python, information about the upcoming taught programme, research opportunities, engagement with the local computational community and of course other important skills, such as "How to manage your supervisor".

During the weekend, all CDT students and directors enjoyed a BBQ and parallel Frisbee, aerobie, volleyball and football during a day out at Lepe Country Park at the coast.

Note the frisbee in the top right corner: it is on its way to the Isle of Wight.
